Career Seminar

A new event at this years’ Annual Meeting was the AAPG/SEG Student Expo Committee’s Student Career Seminar. This Seminar featured a presentation from Phillip Sims from The Excellence Connection titled, "$elling yourself for $uccess".

A question and answer session allowed attendees to glean information from a panel of new hires into the petroleum industry as well as long time professionals. Panel members, many of whom had attended past AAPG/SEG Student Expos, shared their experiences and useful tips. Students were presented with the opportunity to ask, the basic questions such as, "what works? What doesn’t?", in the pursuit of a career in the petroleum Industry.

Feedback was positive from the students that attended the pizza lunch presentation and many expressed a desire to see the program continue.

A Note From Mike:

I would like to extend a personal thank you to those who served on the panel as well as the dedicated committee members who made this event a success.
