Abstracts for 2005 Calgary ConventionThe deadline for abstract submission for the 2005 AAPG Annual Convention in Calgary is November 15! Every year the student posters and oral presentations at the AAPG Annual Convention prove to be some of the highest quality technical presentations at The Convention. Please consider participating in this event! Benefits to presenters include broad professional recognition and excellent venues for networking and discovering job opportunities. Participants and their sponsoring department are also eligible for cash awards, and all contributors are honored at the Student Reception where the annual Student Chapter awards are also conferred. Please note that, at the current time, guidelines require submissions to student sessions include student authors only. You may, however, recognize your university, department and/or faculty adviser(s) in your presentation. Please go to the Annual Conference area of AAPG's Web site for instructions on how to electronically submit an abstract. The AAPG Student Chapter Committee is also planning an overnight student field trip to take place immediately following the Calgary meeting. As we have in past years, it is our plan to secure contributions through corporate sponsorship of the field trip, thereby reducing the cost to participating students and faculty advisors. Space will be limited, so look for the field trip announcement as soon as registration opens! The trip will be jointly sponsored by the AAPG Student Chapter Committee and the SEPM. The Student Chapter Committee is always interested in hearing how AAPG can best serve its student members.
