Attend Paris 2005 AAPG International Conference and Exhibition and then stay for:

Sequence Stratigraphy for Students

Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005
Amphi Galilee, Tour Galilee, La Defense
(Course sponsored by Total)

Name of instructor: Francois Guillocheau, Professor at Rennes University

Number of participants: Up to 60.

Who should attend

This course is for graduate students who want to know more about sequence stratigraphy, its basics and its predictivity in terms of sediment geometries.

Course content

The aim of the course is to merge both theoretical knowledges and applications of sequence stratigraphy.

Course agenda

The morning wil be devoted to the study of the Accomodation Space/Sediment balance and its consequences on sediment geometries, its time-scales and causes and its use in terms of geometry prediction.

The afternoon will be the time of the applications: A/S ratio variations and sequence stratigraphic interpretations, stacking pattern on outcrops and well-logs, perspectives in stratigraphic modelling.
