Student Opportunities at the Winter Education Conference!!

 

AAPG will be presenting our third annual Winter Education Conference in Houston, February 6-10, 2006, at the Houston Hilton Westchase Hotel.  The conference consists of 12 different courses held over the 5 days, to mix and match according to your training needs.  There are four concurrent sessions each day, with buffet lunch and refreshment breaks included!

 

The member price for this conference is $1195, but we have five student slots available for just $100 each, and you can choose which courses you wish to take during the week.  Because these slots fill up quickly, we encourage you to sign up as quickly as possible.

 

Another opportunity is to participate as a grad-student assistant for a specific course or combination of courses.  You would assist the instructor and the on-site AAPG representative in making the course run smoothly, with such duties as helping with registration, announcements, handouts during class, monitoring the light levels, etc.  In exchange, you get to attend the course(s) free of charge and receive a set of course notes and get to participate just like any other attendee the majority of the time.  We need one assistant in each course, so there are 12 of these positions available.
