There are a few upcoming student events that I wanted to highlight as many of the deadlines are quickly approaching.

Again if you have any questions please let me know.

Upcoming Expo Events….

The 2007 Rocky Mountain Rendezvous of Geoscience Students and Employers (RMR) is scheduled for Sept 28-Oct 1 at the University of Wyoming, Laramie.  Each year more and more companies participate.  This is a great opportunity for students to meet with prospective employers.  Although the majority of participating companies are petroleum oriented, several environmental and mining companies also usually participate.  This year because of Chevron’s generosity, cash awards for poster winners have been increased to $800., $600. and $400. for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.  In addition, $100. will be awarded to those students receiving honorable mention.  This is a great opportunity to meet with prospective employers.  A short course, field trip and several receptions are included with your registration (only $15. for AAPG/SEG student members; $25.  for non-members). The RMR provides lots of opportunities for one-on-one interactions with recruiters in addition to interviewing time.  For more info on the 2007 RMR please visit: http://aapg.gg.uwyo.edu/RockyMtnRendezvous/home.html.  Register soon and plan on presenting a poster
